Poetry - Path

She chased her memory in black and white

Down that path again

The passageway of reminiscence and recollections

Completely dark and without hope or alleviation

Angry and resentful

Yet strangely benevolent; without malicious intent

Bleached and transparent

Like a photograph from the 1950’s

Exposed she lay her heart before scrutiny and magnification

Deciding between a glossy or a matte representation of her image

Past leading to the present

In existence at this moment in time

She sought to stitch her incongruence to her daydreams

And find a new way to navigate

Through the rest of her life
