Poetry - Irises Falling

Splintered eyes, shards of blue and green

Irises falling

Black pupil pieces pulsated on the linoleum floor

Faded pink patterns of flowers

Bordered by dirty gold squares

Flecks scattered into cracks and wispy dust strands

White balls crashed like works of blown glass

Powder cascading through stale air

Dusting the Formica table, the turquoise chrome chairs

Floating on the forgotten coffee scum

In the small corelle mug

Landing in the cat
s dish half full of kibble

Low light came from the left

Through musty dusty kitchen sheers

It played devilishly everywhere

Lighting on air borne debris

On the ceiling, on the wall

It bounced off the appliances

But there was no seeing
